The Medway Centre, Friday 7 August, 7.30pm, £7/£5. Tickets from the Bakewell Bookshop (T: 01629 812818) and the BAF hotline Sponsored by the Bakewell Bookshop and Bakewell Rotary

Shaded Voice Dance Company was formed in September 2008 by Liz How, Jenni Lau and Louise Kelsey as they began their third year at Middlesex University, London and was born out of a desire to create and perform original contemporary work which was accessible to new audiences.

This 50-minute show presents new choreographies by three up-and-coming choreographers. Neil Baglietto creates an explosion of movement and music as the dances move smoothly through his lyrical style into high octane jumps and falls. Jenni Lau’s debut choreography is a narrative tale of a fictional community torn apart by betrayal. Finally, Louise Kelsey brings an element of sensuality with a piece based on secrets and hidden passions. The beauty of this show is how the choreographies complement each other while showcasing completely contrasting styles, danced to perfection by this 10-strong cast of energetic and vibrant dance talent.
